Robert Gates is Co-Founder & General Partner of the firm, where he is responsible for government and investor relations. He also focuses his time in the development of strategic partnerships within the agriculture and healthcare industries to generate deal flow. Robert is a seasoned businessman with over 15 years of experience in acquisitions, private equity investments and management. Robert’s focus areas are: Healthcare, Real Estate, Education, Agricultural, and Financial Technology.

 

Prior to Invictus, Robert founded several successful Healthcare and Agriculture businesses. With his experience in these sectors, we have leveraged investment strategies to help improve health outcomes and population health and wellness initiatives. Robert was also the project manager for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation/Mid-South Delta Initiative (MSDI), and a program officer at Enterprise Corporation of the Delta/HOPE Community Credit Union. Robert has 15 plus years of combined professional experience in the areas of fund raising and public relations. This experience includes 6 years of working as a full time program officer primarily for a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), with a focus in donor prospect building, developing long-range fund raising goals, cultivating donors, stewardship activities, grant writing, closing principle and planned gifts during a capital campaign, and assisting organizations to prepare and implement comprehensive development campaigns.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and a Master in Community Development, both from Delta State University.
